Una unde doar unul are dreptate. Ca si la concursurile de debate.

First encounters
When two people meet for the first time they engage in a social ritual. The ritual requires questioning and answering, smiles and laughter at one's jokes.
So how does it go for you when you meet or you are being introduced to someone new?
I believe it would go like that:
"1. So what's your name?...
...
2. And where do you come from?
...
3. Oh really? Well why are you here?
...
4.Interesting. This reminds me of....\" (or if nothing pops into one's head) " Do you do any sports?/ Did you see### movie?
....
"
Or you feel free to fill in the algorithm of socializing.
Nevertheless when I am here, and by here I mean Japan, the above "socializing option tree" mostly goes like this:
1. How old are you?
2. Do you have a boyfriend?
3. Where do you come from? After I answer this questions people go :OHHHHHH.... while they nod affirmatively.
4. Where exactly is your country?
5. In Romania, you speak English, right? (The older ones and the ones that study politics usually exchange English with Russian)
6. What is your name?
The order would be kept like this, no matter if I would speak in English or Japanese.
...and so it goes.
Since I have been living here I realized how much I value my privacy. Especially when they ask me those first two questions.
Besides, in my mind there is this continuous back and forth debate about whether they are right to value youth, oh well, maybe it is more about looking young and if they actually have any right to ask me about my personal life. Then I wonder if I would be allowed not to answer the question. And if i would choose not to, if I would be considered rude. And then I would get angry on systems and culture. Then I would grow tired and I would leave it like that till the next day.

3 years ago a person I know went to Asia.
A few months after Juan went to China I departed for Asia as well.
He took The International Leadership Strengths Research Project test.
When I was starting my journey here I took it too.
Now I retook it to see if I changed or not. Yes and no.
My basic strengths stay the same.
Judgment, critical thinking, and open-mindedness
Thinking things through and examining them from all sides are important aspects of who you are. You do not jump to conclusions, and you rely only on solid evidence to make your decisions. You are able to change your mind.
Kindness and generosity
You are kind and generous to others, and you are never too busy to do a favor. You enjoy doing good deeds for others, even if you do not know them well.
Fairness, equity, and justice
Treating all people fairly is one of your abiding principles. You do not let your personal feelings bias your decisions about other people. You give everyone a chance.
Love of learning
You love learning new things, whether in a class or on your own. You have always loved school, reading, and museums-anywhere and everywhere there is an opportunity to learn.
Honesty, authenticity, and genuineness
You are an honest person, not only by speaking the truth but by living your life in a genuine and authentic way. You are down to earth and without pretense; you are a "real" person.
While in 2006, I had a bit more wisdom.

Random comeback
Last night I watched a cheap, 50's version of Dracula, while eating an apple pie. All in 15 minutes, as the movie was so bad and slow that we just skipped to the end. Then wanted to watch "The Invasion" but it didn`t work. The sound effects were really cool and loud, but we couldn`t hear what the actors were saying. And I spent a lot of money for renting them. So, if this is the case, isn`t it like I am encouraged to download than to rent them?
...and I have no idea what to have for lunch. But I liked the soy milk I had this morning.
